Zcash, Solana, Tron and other coins in Cake Wallet
Besides Monero, Bitcoin, Litecoin and the EVM networks, Cake Wallet supports Zcash (shielded by default), Solana with SPL tokens, Tron with TRC-20 tokens, Dogecoin, Nano, Decred and Bitcoin Cash. Most use a 12-word BIP39 seed that can join a wallet group; Zcash and Decred are on iPhone and Android only.
Quick steps
- Open the Wallets screen. Tap the wallet switcher and choose to create a new wallet.
- Pick the coin. Select Zcash, Solana, Tron, Dogecoin, Nano, Decred or Bitcoin Cash. Zcash and Decred need the phone app.
- Set the seed options. Keep the 12-word BIP39 default, or open Advanced Settings for 24 words, a passphrase or a coin-specific seed type.
- Back up the seed. Write the words down in order on paper and keep them offline.
- Fund the fee coin. For Solana or Tron tokens, receive a little SOL or TRX first so you can pay fees.
This page covers the coins that do not have their own page on Frosting Guide. All facts are as of Cake Wallet 6.5.0 (October 2026).

Zcash
Zcash arrived in version 5.7.0 in January 2026. Cake Wallet shields funds automatically (Cake Wallet docs, 2026). Funds received at transparent addresses are auto-shielded, unless the shieldable amount is 0.005 ZEC or less (Cake Wallet docs, 2026). The Receive screen offers Shielded (the default, now in the Ironwood pool), Unified, Legacy Shielded (Sapling), Transparent (a new one after each use) and a static Public transparent address.
Ironwood. Zcash's Ironwood upgrade (NU6.3) was expected to activate around 28 July 2026 at block 3,428,143 and closes the older Orchard pool. Cake Wallet 6.4.0 added support and 6.4.1 added an in-app notice. Migration is automatic: open the Zcash wallet, let it sync and keep the app open until the "migrating to Ironwood" row disappears. Each migration transaction costs about 0.0002 ZEC (Cake Wallet docs, 2026).
Coming from Zashi. Restoring a Zashi seed may not show all funds because Zashi handles change addresses differently. Cake Wallet recommends creating a new Zcash wallet and sending your balance over. Zcash is not in the macOS or Linux builds.
Solana
Solana wallets use path m/44'/501'/0'/0' and a single address. Fees are paid in SOL, are very low and are set automatically. USDC and USDT are enabled by default; other SPL tokens can be switched on or added by mint address. NFTs show on an NFTs tab and, since 6.4.4 (September 2026), can be sent; the app shows any extra SOL needed to create the recipient's token account. Jupiter handles swaps between Solana tokens since 5.8.0 (January 2026).
Tron
Tron is mostly used for USDT. TRC-20 USDT, USDC, DOGE and WBTC appear by default. Every Tron transaction uses bandwidth and energy; if you lack them, the network burns some TRX. So you need TRX even to send only USDT, and sending to a never-used address costs extra for account activation. The usual cause of a failed token transfer is too little TRX (Cake Wallet docs, 2026). There is no fee selector.
Dogecoin
Dogecoin arrived in 5.3.0 in August 2025. It uses BIP44 path m/44'/3'/0', P2PKH addresses starting with D, a new address after each use, coin control and three fee levels. There is no custom fee and no Bump fee.
Nano
Nano sends have no network fee, so the Send screen has no fee row. Under Advanced Settings you can choose a BIP39 seed (default, 12 or 24 words) or the standard Nano seed format for compatibility with other Nano wallets. Only BIP39 Nano wallets can join a wallet group. Each wallet has one nano_ address.
Decred
Decred uses SPV sync: it downloads only the blocks containing your transactions, so no server learns which ones are yours, but the first sync uses a lot of data. Since 6.4.2 (August 2026), new wallets use a 12- or 24-word BIP39 seed; restores also accept the original 15-word Decred seed. Cake Wallet warns that Decred data can make backup files very large or cause them to fail. Decred is on iPhone and Android only. The docs do not describe staking or tickets.
Bitcoin Cash
Bitcoin Cash uses path m/44'/145'/0', CashAddr addresses starting with q (the bitcoincash: prefix is optional), a new address after each use and coin control. Fees are Slow, Medium (default) or Fast, with no custom fee or Bump fee.
Zano and Wownero
Zano can no longer be created or restored since 6.5.0, and Wownero wallets open only to show their seed. Haven was removed in 2025. Dates and what to do are on supported coins.
Before you start
Back up each seed when you create the wallet. Send a small test first on any new network. Rules on privacy coins such as Zcash differ by country, and exchange support varies; this guide does not give legal advice. Cake Wallet never asks for your seed and never messages you first.
Frequently asked questions
Does Cake Wallet support shielded Zcash?
Yes. It shields by default and auto-shields transparent funds above 0.005 ZEC.
Why did my Tron USDT transfer fail?
Usually because the wallet did not have enough TRX to pay for bandwidth and energy.
Can I see Solana NFTs in Cake Wallet?
Yes, and since 6.4.4 you can send them from the NFTs tab.
Does Cake Wallet support Decred staking?
Cake Wallet's documentation does not describe staking or tickets, only sending, receiving and coin control.
Why can't I find Zcash or Decred on my Mac?
The macOS and Linux builds leave out Zcash and Decred. Use the iPhone or Android app.
