Swap cost calculator: how much does the exchange really cost?
Swap providers in Cake Wallet build their fee into the exchange rate, so the real cost is the gap between the quoted rate and the market rate. Enter the amount, both rates and the network fee to see the percentage you pay. You type every value; nothing is fetched or sent.
How to use it
- In Cake Wallet's swap screen, note the amount you will receive and the providers offered.
- Look up the market rate for the same pair on a price site you trust.
- Enter both rates. The difference is the provider's spread, which includes its fee.
Floating-rate quotes can change before your deposit arrives; fixed-rate quotes lock the rate but usually cost a little more. More in swapping in Cake Wallet and Cake Wallet fees.
Frequently asked questions
Does Cake Wallet add its own fee to swaps?
Cake Wallet says it charges no fee to send or receive and that providers build their spread or fee into the quoted rate. Its open-source code also passes affiliate or markup settings to several swap providers, with amounts kept in private build settings, so part of the spread can go to Cake. Compare quotes between providers.
Why did I receive less than the quote?
With a floating rate, the price can move before your deposit confirms. Network fees are also deducted.
What is a good spread?
It depends on the pair and the amount. Compare several providers in the app; differences of a percent or more are common.
